  4. DESCRIPTION: 
  5.     With dBSearch the user can do the following (and more) with 
  6.     dBase III data files:
  7.     * 'Point and shoot' file selection of any path (to load file).
  8.     * Browse records in two view-styles (indexed or not,
  9.       finds-only or not).
  10.     * Search for records of interest using a search template format
  11.       which can include up to 7 fields and their ranges or values. 
  12.     * Sort the file based upon any three fields of ANY types (numeric 
  13.       fields can be combined with text, date, etc.). 
  14.     * Print current status (filename, number of records, finds, etc).
  15.     * Print records (some or all fields, indexed or not, 
  16.       finds-only or not).
  17.     * Construct and print address labels (indexed or not, etc.)
  18.     * Specify whether printed matter goes to file or printer.
  19.     * Construct a new database file composed of fields from the original
  20.       and containing records (indexed order or not, etc.).
  21.     * save current (filename,path) settings to disk.

  23. INTENDED USER:
  24.     The program is written for people who inherit dBase III data files
  25.     and would like to 'get a handle' on their data without having to
  26.     learn any database principles, let alone the specifics of dBase.

  28. UNIQUE FEATURES: 
  29.     The program uses pull-down (highlighted sliding selection bars)
  30.     exclusively, uses pleasing colors, and has forgiving error traps.
  31.     The search template is very convenient and intuitive, yet also
  32.     extremely flexible.  The general ease of use and immediate access
  33.     to the database are also unusual for database programs.  Another 
  34.     feature is that data files are not modified by the program, thus
  35.     ensuring that data will not be destroyed by the user.  Only new
  36.     forms of existing data can be created.

  38. CAPACITY:
  39.     dBase III data files of any size can be loaded.  However, searching
  40.     and indexing can only cover 32000 records.  Up to 128 fields can
  41.     be displayed and selected.  Memo fields (free form dBase fields)
  42.     are ignored by the program.

  44. REQUIREMENTS:
  45.     320K memory required.

  48.     Type 'DBSEARCH' at the dos prompt.
